Do you know you can't plant a tree just outside the property boundary?
Under Section 1017 of the Civil Code, neighbors must refrain from planting trees in close proximity to the land boundary. The law establishes a simple rule:

🌳 Trees growing over 3 meters tall — must be at least 3 meters from the property boundary.
🌿 Other trees and shrubs — must be at least 1.5 meters from the border.
The goal is to prevent disputes between neighbors, for example due to shading, leaf fall or root overgrowth. If the planting is carried out in violation of these rules, the neighbor may claim the removal of the tree or its pruning.
