Why we ran the webinar

Debt collection is one of our most active practice areas. Clients entrust us with individual receivables and whole portfolios worth from tens of thousands to tens of millions of crowns. For the cooperation to work efficiently, the client must understand how we proceed, when we involve them and what we need from them. We prepared the webinar precisely to describe our process transparently — including the financial side and communication.

We see this as part of open communication with clients. Those who understand the process get more out of it.

What you will find in the recording

Current processes and changes in our firm

  • How we currently take on a new debt-collection case and what we need from the client.
  • What organisational changes we have recently introduced in the collection practice and what they mean for clients.
  • Internal escalation — who joins and when, and how we divide work between the trainee and partner level.

Managing enforcement in practice

  • Choosing the bailiff — the criteria we decide by and when the client can influence the choice.
  • Types of enforcement (attachment of a receivable, sale of movable/immovable property, wage deductions) — what suits when.
  • What to do when the debtor enters insolvency.
  • Reporting to the client: what you receive, when and how.

Practical handling of problem situations

  • What to do when a debtor stops responding — and what is not worth doing.
  • When it makes sense to continue and when it is time to write the debt off.
  • Specific situations: a debtor abroad, a debtor with no assets, a disputed receivable.

The financial side of collection

  • Collection costs: court fees, the attorney's fee, enforcement costs.
  • What of these costs the debtor actually pays and what remains with the client.
  • Fee models: hourly rate, fixed fee, share of the amount recovered.
  • Return on collection — when it pays off and when it does not.

Effective communication with the firm

  • What information we need from you so we can start immediately.
  • When and by whom you should be contacted during the proceedings.
  • How escalations work and what to do if a case seems to be „standing still“.

Who the recording is useful for

  • Existing clients who want to understand better how we work with their receivables and how to use us effectively.
  • New clients considering entrusting us with debt collection — the webinar offers a look into our processes before you sign a power of attorney.
  • CFOs, managing directors and in-house lawyers who want to understand how a law firm specialising in collection works.

Would you like to work with us?

We operate in České Budějovice and Prague. We have experience with receivables in the hundreds of thousands and tens of millions of crowns. We do not work on a „send an invoice, we send a reminder“ basis — for every case we expect a strategic view: is it worth pushing, negotiating instalments, assigning or writing off? We offer:

  • One-off representation in a specific case.
  • Long-term management of a receivables portfolio.
  • Strategic prevention: reviewing contracts and terms so that your receivables are easy to enforce.

We tailor the fee model individually to the volume and type of receivables.
